The Joy of Moving Forward Towards the Goal

Philippians 3:12-16

Opening Remark: A person's life is the most lively when he lives with a purpose.

"God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." (Genesis 1:28)

1. A purpose oriented life begins with a sense of holy discontentment.

"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." (Philippians 3:12)

2. A purpose oriented life is focused on single purpose.

"Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead," (Philippians 3:13)

1) He focused on knowing Jesus.

"What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ." (Philippians 3:8)

2) He focused on growth to the point of wholly becoming like Jesus.

"I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead." (Philippians 3:10-11)

3) He focused on the missionof making Jesus known to the ends of the earth.

"But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions, and since I have been longing for many years to see you," (Romans 15:23)

4) He focused on pleasing God.

"So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it."

3. A purpose oriented life always moves forward.

First, he forgot about his failures in the past.

"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." (Hebrews 8:12)

Secondly, he forgot about his successes in the past.

"Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

4. For the sake of achieving the purpose, be focused on learning and growth.

"until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Ephesians 4:13)

Closing Remark: Become joyous by achieving the purpose.

"I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:14)

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." (Hebrews 12:1)

목표를 가지고 살때(목표지향적으로) 가장 힘차게 살수 있습니다.

창세기 1:28
땅을 정복하고 생육하고 번성하고 ...와 같은 놀라운 사명을 주셨습니다.
아담과 하와는 먹는거에만 포커스를 맞췄었다.
왜 나는 침체되어 있는가? 이유는,
외모보다는  self image,
긍정적인 자아상을 가지고 살때 목표지향적으로 살수 있다.
목표가 없으면 인생의 상실감을 맛보게 된다.
정복해야 할 장애가 있을때 인간은 목표지향적이 되는 것이고 행복해진다.

1. 목표지향적인 삶은 거룩한 불만족을 갖구 사는데서 시작된다.
나는 성장할 필요가 없다고 생각하는 사람은 부족한 사람이다.
그리스도인의 본질은  becoming!

2. 한가지 일에 집중하는 것이다.
한 방향을 설정하면 다른것은 놓는다. ex) razar

1) He focused on knowing Jesus.
지식이 얼마나 중요한가?
시각장애인이 보지 못한 아내와 자식을 사랑할수는 있지만
자기가 모르는 사람을 사랑할수 없다.
사랑하기 시작하면 이해하려고 노력하구
이해하면 더 사랑하게 된다.
목표를 달성하려면 그 목표에 대해서 철저하게 알아야 한다.

2) 온전히 닮기를 원해야 한다. becoming
훈련과 아픔들을 통해 아름다운 결과가 나온다.
우리는 화려한 결과만 원하지 그 뒤에 있는 고난과 고통을 원치 않는다.

3) 예수님을 만난 것을 증거해야 한다.
영광스런 복음을 전하는 거.
 
4) He focused on pleasing God.
때론 고생하고 힘들어도 잘 통과하고 이겨내면 내가 사랑하는 사람이 기뻐해줄거야 라는 기쁨이 있다.
주님께서는 착한 사람에 주목하실거다.
하나님의 나라는 작은 소자에게 (은밀한 중에 구제한 사람) 상 주실것이다.

* 누군가를 기쁘게 하는 것은 좋은 것 *

3. 어떻게 사는게 목표지향적으로 사는 것인가?
1) U have to forget failures in past. Leave in the past.
모든 고난속에서 하나님의 뜻을 발견한다.

2) U have to forget about successes in the past, also.
내가 좋은 학교 나왔는데...
내가 1등했는데...
소위 3류학교, 좀 부족하다고 생각하는 학교 나온 분들이 세계를 향해 나가는 경우가 많더라.
본인이 부족하다고 느끼기때문에 끝없이 끝없이 노력하는 사람이 있다.
서울상대. 서울에서 상당히 떨어진 대학교.ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ

과거의 성공때문에 더 이상 발전도 노력도 하지 않는다.
하지만 자기가 부족하다고 생각하는 사람은 상상치 못하는 단계에 이른다.
실패를 두려워하지 말고 노력하세요.
조금만 힘들면 돌아갈려고 하지말고 노력하세요.
전진하세요 여기까지 왔으면, 힘들어도, 환경이 어려워도.
아직 끝나지 않았어요. 길이 있어요. 아직 모르는 거지.
도전하세요!

목표가 중요하다
가능하다
물론 서툴다.
challenging is important. and step by step! repetition is importat.
Keeping doing is important

4. learning and growth 에 집중하자.
훌륭한 사람은 배움과 성장을 계속한다.
내게 주는 어려운 상황을 배움과 성장의 계기로 삼는다.

새로운 역사 창조를 위해서는 때론 혼돈이 필요하다.
얼음이 물로 녹을때, 물이 수증기로 변할때,,그때 혼돈이 있습니다.
내가 새론 역사를 써내려갈때 때론 혼돈과 모호함 마저도 즐길수 있어야 한다
그래야 지도자의 길을 걸어갈수 있다.

목표를 성취함으로 기쁨을 누리세요.

어려운 목표를 성취할수록 기쁨이 커요.
인간의 한계를 뛰어넘는 걸 성취할 수록 기쁨이 커요.
이럴때 필요한 것은 인내!(Patience)
인내로서 견뎌야 한다.
어디에 있든지 힘들지라도 멈추지 마세요.
달려가면서, 하는 일을 계속하면서 인내하는 거다.
끝나기 전까지는 끝난 것이 아니다.
